Bruno Genesio met leaders of OM supporters’ groups on Tuesday night ahead of the Ligue 1 season, with Leonardo Balerdi’s situation discussed, according to L'Équipe.

Balerdi was booed at every touch last Friday against Atlético de Madrid, a 1-2 defeat in OM’s final warm-up. Genesio said the defender had suffered, adding that such scrutiny is part of the job, and noted that Friday’s league game would see fans backing the whole team.

Genesio attended with sporting director Grégory Lorenzi and chief executive and former interim president Alban Juster. President Stéphane Richard was absent, having already met representatives in early July.
