Opta’s supercomputer has published its Ligue 1 2026-27 forecast, putting Paris Saint-Germain first and Marseille only sixth.

Opta says its model runs 10,000 simulations and draws on teams’ historical and recent performances to produce the projected table.

At the top, Paris Saint-Germain are backed to lift the title in May. Lens are projected second again, with Lille third. Marseille trail behind Monaco and Lyon in the chasing pack.

At the other end, Angers are predicted to finish 18th. Newly promoted Le Mans are tipped 17th and to go down, while Troyes are placed 16th and would face the play-offs.

The projections carry no guarantees. Last season the model did not foresee Lens finishing second, having placed them eighth, nor Nice ending up 16th after projecting seventh. It did, however, correctly call Lyon fourth, Marseille fifth and Metz 18th.
