Bruno Genesio will be on Lille bench at Toulouse despite bereavement

According to L'Équipe, Bruno Genesio will be on the Lille bench at Toulouse on Sunday at 17:15 despite his bereavement.

He travelled to Lyon early on Friday to join his family after learning overnight from Thursday to Friday of the death of his father, Salvatore, 84.

Despite the circumstances, he stayed closely involved in Lille’s preparation for the trip, holding video meetings with his staff, and insisted on taking his place at the Stadium.

Club president Olivier Létang addressed the media on Saturday lunchtime, offering full backing to the 59-year-old during a difficult period.

Assistant coach Dimitri Farbos highlighted Genesio’s remarkable strength of character and resilience, having worked alongside him for more than 10 years.
