Bucharest and Belgrade to host Europa League finals as FFF bid for Parc des Princes fails | OneFootball

Bucharest and Belgrade will stage the Europa League finals in 2028 and 2029, ruling out a return to Paris's Parc des Princes.

L'Équipe reports that the French Football Federation had applied to UEFA to host one or both editions at the Parc des Princes.

The ground last staged the final on 6 May 1998, when Inter Milan beat Lazio 3-0 in what was then the UEFA Cup.

The bid had backing from the Île-de-France region. Its president, Valérie Pécresse, wrote to UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin to promise support with the necessary procedures and to act as a go-between for the parties.

The Arena Nationala in Bucharest has been awarded 2028, with Belgrade's National Stadium to host in 2029.
