Bukayo Saka hails Arsenal teenager Max Dowman as ‘insane’ talent | OneFootball

Bukayo Saka has praised Arsenal prospect Max Dowman and urged the 16-year-old to match his natural ability with hard work to maximise his career.

"His talent is insane. It’s up to him how far he’s going to go in football. That’s what I would say. But, yes, his talent, it’s crazy," he told the BBC.

Dowman’s rapid ascent began in August 2025 when he became the second-youngest player in Premier League history at 15 years and 235 days. In November he set a European benchmark as the youngest ever to feature in the Champions League. His breakthrough peaked in March, scoring against Everton to become the youngest scorer in Premier League and Arsenal history at 16 years and 73 days.

Mikel Arteta is easing the midfielder into senior football, and Dowman underlined his potential with two goals in a 4-2 Carabao Cup win over Ipswich Town.

He has made 15 senior appearances in total, with two coming this season. Dowman is currently on duty with England Under-19s, and, given his trajectory and record-setting start, a promotion to the Under-21s appears completely inevitable in the very near future.
