On his 302nd Bundesliga appearance, and return to the starting line-up, Andrej Kramarić scored a sensational first-half hat-trick to down Borussia Mönchengladbach, stretching TSG’s run to five straight wins at home.

Putting on a finishing masterclass, Kramarić opened the scoring from the spot when Wouter Burger went down under the challenge of Philipp Sander. It means that Hoffenheim have now scored their last 19 penalties in the Bundesliga, 14 of which were scored by TSG’s No. 27.

Kramarić completed his hat-trick in stoppage time of the first-half, with two goals in three minutes. His second of the evening, a delicately placed finish beyond Moritz Nicolas, preceded the Croat’s third, a Goal of the Month contender.

Attacking down Hoffenheim’s right, Kramarić received the ball before lofting the ball over a stricken Nicolas from a tight angle – as far as chips go, there are few better than the 34-year-old’s on Matchday 17.

Returning to Christian Ilzer’s starting line-up, Kramarić played behind Fisnik Asllani and Tim Lemperle. The trio worked magnificently in tandem, troubling Gladbach’s porous defence from the first whistle.

Not only that, but Kramarić also missed two big chances (via FotMob), and created one opportunity. His three against Die Fohlen makes him Hoffenheim’s joint top goalscorer this season.
