The Burnley squad have returned for pre-season training, with forgotten winger Mike Tresor among those to report back after the summer break.
It has been a frustrating summer so far for Burnley as they prepare for life back in the Championship.
Burnley were relegated from the Premier League last season after another disappointing top flight campaign in which they picked up just 22 points, and they parted company with head coach Scott Parker in April shortly after their fate was confirmed.
It seemed last week that the Clarets were closing in on the appointment of Wales manager Craig Bellamy, who previously served as Vincent Kompany's assistant at Turf Moor, but the move collapsed due to issues over backroom staff.
Burnley suffered a further setback in their managerial hunt over the weekend as it was revealed that former Wolves boss Rob Edwards had rejected an approach from the Lancashire outfit just a few weeks after his shock exit from Molineux.
The Clarets' squad reported back for pre-season this week, but with no manager in place two months on from Parker's departure, Mike Jackson is continuing to oversee proceedings after taking charge for the final four games of last season.

While the managerial situation is currently dominating talk among the Burnley fanbase, photos showing forgotten winger Mike Tresor returning for pre-season with the rest of the squad have also raised a few eyebrows.
Tresor initially joined the Clarets on a season-long loan from Genk in the summer of 2023, and having scored eight goals and provided 24 assists for the Belgian outfit the previous season, he looked to be an exciting addition.
Despite Tresor failing to register a single goal contribution in 19 appearances as Burnley were relegated from the Premier League, they had an obligation to sign the winger permanently for a fee of £15.4 million at the end of his loan spell.
Tresor was linked with Dutch giants Ajax shortly after completing a full-time move to Turf Moor, but a deal did not materialise, with the 27-year-old making it clear on social media that he was less than impressed with the situation, and he has barely featured for the Clarets since.
The winger has made just nine appearances for Burnley over the past two years, including six substitute cameos in the Premier League last season, albeit he was sidelined for much of the second half of the campaign with an ankle injury.
With Parker no longer in charge, some have questioned whether Tresor could come back into the fold next season under his successor, and images released on the Clarets' Instagram account confirm that the Belgian has linked up with his teammates for pre-season.

Burnley lost a number of their stars after their previous relegation from the Premier League, and with the likes of Maxime Esteve, Jaidon Anthony and Zian Flemming already being linked with moves away, it appears another mass exodus could be on the cards this summer.
After two years out in the cold, it is unlikely that there will be a similar level of interest in Tresor, but with the reasons behind his absence still unclear, it remains to be seen whether he would be involved in the Championship even if he remains at Turf Moor.
Tresor proved during his time in Belgium that he has plenty of ability, so he could be an asset for the Clarets next season, but with no manager in place to make a decision on his future, it is unlikely that any clarity on his situation will emerge any time soon.
