Parker is now in the second week of his new job, and while the Clarets haven’t signed anyone since he joined, the Lancashire side have been busy so far this summer.

Burnley have brought in Mike Tresor (on a permanent deal after his loan), Maxime Esteve, and Shurandy Sambo so far in this transfer window.

But the rest of the business that the Clarets do this summer may depend on what players leave the club, as departures are expected following their relegation to the Championship.

With that said, here we have looked at the latest news coming out of Burnley Football Club…

Vaclav Hladky rejects Burnley transfer

Vaclav Hladky is said to have turned down a move to Burnley in favour of joining Czech side Jablonec.

That is according to Czech outlet iSport.cz, which states that the Lancashire side offered the goalkeeper a two-year deal, but he rejected the chance to move to Turf Moor.

Hladky decided to leave Ipswich Town at the end of last month after being unable to agree to a new contract with the newly promoted side.

Therefore, the 33-year-old is free to discuss with whichever clubs he likes, and in the discussions with Burnley, they have said to have offered him better terms than what he was on at Ipswich.

But a move back to his homeland is considered the preferred option for the goalkeeper at this point in his career.

As well as rejecting Burnley, Hladky has also reportedly turned down a move to Banik Ostrava. The 33-year-old was magnificent for Ipswich last season, as he kept 14 clean sheets in the Championship as the club won promotion to the Premier League.

Arijanet Muric is set to join Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town are reportedly set to sign Burnley goalkeeper Arijanet Muric in a deal worth £15 million.

That is according to Alan Nixon on Patreon, who states that Muric is set for an immediate return to the Premier League as he closes in on a move to Portman Road.

Both Muric and James Trafford have been linked with exits in this transfer window, and with Muric now set for his departure, it appears as though Trafford could be the one to stay at the club.

It was confirmed by The Athletic’s David Ornstein on Saturday that the Tractor Boys had reached an agreement with Burnley to sign Muric.

He states that the deal will see Ipswich pay the Clarets an initial £8 million, which will rise to £10 million with add-ons. He then went on to add that a medical is being arranged before the deal is finally completed.

Burnley facing Roma battle in Lorenz Assignon race

Burnley are looking to bring Rennes defender Lorenz Assignon back to the club this summer, but they face stiff competition from Serie A side Roma.

According to Italian reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma are also looking to sign Assignon this summer and the defender’s preferred choice would be to join the Italian side.

Di Marzio states that Burnley are indeed looking to sign Assignon permanently this summer, after having him at the club last season in the Premier League.

However, they face a battle on their hands, as the defender seems more keen on joining Roma in this transfer window.

Assignon joined the Clarets on loan in the January transfer window, and the 24-year-old went on to play 15 times for the club, during which he scored once and assisted two goals. It appears to have been enough for the club to want to sign him again, despite Vincent Kompany not being the manager.
