After the restart, Gregorie Coudert saved from David Ozoh as Derby pressed for a leveller. The visitors kept forcing openings, with Joe Ward also testing the goalkeeper, as momentum swung their way.

Derby's bench made the difference. Substitute Rhian Brewster released fellow replacement Mohammed Fuseini, who drilled in the equaliser in the third minute of second half stoppage time.

A stoppage for Charlie Taylor's injury late on preceded the visitors' late surge, with the full back replaced before the decisive breakaway.

The Rams tallied 16 attempts, with six on target, underlining their late pressure. The Clarets produced six attempts, two on target.

The Clarets visit Watford next. Derby host Wrexham.
