Burnley sign former Man Utd winger Leah Galton | OneFootball

Burnley have completed the surprise signing of winger Leah Galton until the end of the season.

The former Manchester United player was a free agent after having left the Red Devils in the summer. She has now signed for Burnley until the end of the season with the option for extending that for a further year.

"It’s very, very exciting actually," Galton said about joining the Clarets, who are now in the WSL 2 after promotion from the National League last season.

"I wasn’t too sure what was going to happen, but Burnley have come in for me and I absolutely said yes, so I’m excited to get started.

Galton had missed much of the 2025/26 campaign due to a persistent back issue but she says that she will be ready to return: "I’ve done as much as I could to keep fit during pre-season, and I’ve got a little bit of work to do before I’m fully ready to be back on the pitch. You’ll hopefully see me soon, as I’ve missed playing so much.

"I’m going to work very hard and give everything I can to this club."

Galton links up with former teammate Rachel Williams at Burnley, who also started the 2025/26 campaign at United.
