Burnley have completed the permanent signing of Florentino Luís, a deal that will deliver at least €24 million to Benfica.
The club said in a statement that the loan agreed last September included an obligation to buy, which was activated during last season, finalising his switch from Benfica. He departs the Estádio da Luz 16 years after first joining in 2010/2011.
An academy graduate, he made his first-team debut in 2018/19. After two seasons he spent loan spells at Monaco and Getafe, then returned under Roger Schmidt. With Benfica he won two league titles, three Supertaças and one Taça da Liga.
In 2025/26 with Burnley, the Portuguese defensive midfielder played 33 matches, 31 in the Premier League and two in the FA Cup. Across 2,220 minutes he provided two assists.
The 26-year-old is valued at €16 million.
