Ipswich Town complete signing of Florentino Luís from Burnley | OneFootball

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Portuguese midfielder Florentino Luís from Burnley, with the 26-year-old putting pen to paper on a five-year contract at Portman Road.

The newly-promoted Premier League side are understood to have agreed a deal worth an initial £16 million, with a further £3 million in potential add-ons, as Gary O’Neil continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Florentino joined Burnley on loan from Benfica last season before the Clarets made the move permanent earlier this summer. Despite the club's relegation, the midfielder impressed during his time at Turf Moor, making 33 appearances in all competitions, including 31 in the Premier League.

A product of Benfica's renowned academy, Florentino won two Primeira Liga titles and gained valuable Champions League experience before moving to England. He has also enjoyed loan spells with Getafe and Monaco and represented Portugal at Under-21 level.

He becomes Ipswich's seventh signing of the summer as they continue preparing for life back in the Premier League.
