Cacá landed in Salvador on Thursday afternoon to undergo medical tests and is expected to sign for Vitória on loan until the end of the season, with a purchase obligation if targets are met, according to Globo.com.

The 26-year-old would become the club's 12th addition of 2026, and the fourth for the defence. He will compete for a place with Riccieli, Edu, Camutanga, Neris, Zé Marcos and Luan Cândido.

He has played one match this season, a 3-0 defeat for Corinthians against Bragantino on 15 January.

A Cruzeiro academy graduate, Cacá had spells with Athletico-PR and in Japan before joining Corinthians. Corinthians paid R$ 24 million for 90% of his economic rights and handed him a deal through to the end of 2028.

He made 72 appearances and scored eight goals for Corinthians, and was part of the squads that won the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil last year, and the Supercopa Rei at the start of this season.

In recent months he fell down the pecking order and was made available. He held talks with Athletico-PR before advancing negotiations with Vitória.
