Davide Nicola has officially been appointed the new coach of Cagliari—whom Roma face on August 18th to begin their 2024/25 season.
The Isolani finally made the long awaited announcement this afternoon, confirming Nicola has signed a contract until 30 June, 2026 with an option to extend for one more season.

He replaces Claudio Ranieri after the latter announced his departure in May—successfully guiding the team to safety and guaranteeing the club another season in the Italian top flight.
In their announcement, Cagliari highlighted Nicola’s ability to “motivate players and develop a winning strategy in the face of all kinds of pressures, human qualities and empathy with the group and the environment.”
