Caio Henrique leaves Monaco for Ajax after 211 matches

Caio Henrique has left Monaco to join Ajax, ending a six-year spell of 211 matches. Ajax said in a statement that the parties had reached agreement on the transfer of the 28-year-old left-back.

In mid-June the clubs had been close to agreeing terms worth €10 million plus €3 million in bonuses, together with a 25% sell-on clause.

Monaco marked his departure on X with a highlights video. He is the club’s second-best assist provider this century, with 39 in 211 matches, behind Alexandre Golovine on 43.

The club also thanked Caio Henrique for his commitment and wished him well for the future.

This season he played 22 Ligue 1 matches, 9 in the Champions League and 3 in the Coupe de France.
