Nottingham Forest will make a late decision on Callum Hudson-Odoi’s fitness for Tuesday night’s trip to West Ham, with an 8pm kick-off at the London Stadium. The sides are separated by four points and a win could extend the Reds’ cushion.

According to Nottingham Post, Forest have lost four in a row and Hudson-Odoi missed Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Aston Villa.

Dyche said they would have to wait to see if the winger can feature, noting he did not make the squad at Villa because of a sore Achilles.

Chris Wood, knee, and Ryan Yates, hamstring, remain out. Ibrahim Sangare and Willy Boly are at the Africa Cup of Nations. Ola Aina returned from a long lay-off at Villa Park, which was a boost.

John Victor suffered a calf problem late on, moments after an error for Villa’s third, and was replaced in tears. Dyche had persisted with the Brazilian despite Matz Sels being fit again. Sels had been among the substitutes for four matches and now appears likely to come back in.

Dyche does not view his keepers as a fixed No.1 and No.2, and felt before Saturday that John had done little wrong and dropping him would have been harsh.

The head coach stressed that survival will require the whole squad and that standards must rise after a poor run, including at Villa. He said it is about the team and the squad, not one player or one game, with league, Europa and FA Cup fixtures to come. He also underlined the need to cut errors and pose more threat in the final third.
