Calvert-Lewin absent after illness as Leeds name six defenders at Chelsea | OneFootball

Leeds name six defenders at Stamford Bridge, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin missing, as Daniel Farke makes three changes for Tuesday’s Premier League trip to Chelsea.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Farke said on Monday the striker had been unwell and he hoped he would be fine, but the no 9 is not in the squad.

Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw start. Pascal Struijk misses out with a hip flexor problem after Friday’s win over Nottingham Forest, and Noah Okafor drops to the bench.

Bijol had only just returned to the bench after a hamstring issue. Dan James and Nmecha both made the bench against Forest, James came on in the 78th minute, and Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte, who missed out on Friday, now returns among the substitutes.

Midfielder Anton Stach remains sidelined with a hip injury. Farke is hopeful the German will be back for next weekend’s trip to Aston Villa, after Sunday’s FA Cup fourth-round tie at Birmingham City.

New Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior makes two changes. Club captain Reece James remains out, he had a knock and is now ill, and teenagers Estevao and Josh Acheampong start as Pedro Neto and Wesley Fofana drop to the bench.
