Leeds United could have a fully fit squad for Friday’s crucial relegation clash with Nottingham Forest, according to Leeds Live.

Daniel James returned from a hamstring setback and was in contention before Arsenal, but Daniel Farke said he would reintroduce him carefully, so he was not included. He could make his first squad since late November on Friday.

Sean Longstaff has been back for nearly a month and could potentially make his first start since November. Others could be welcomed back too.

Lukas Nmecha missed Arsenal with another hamstring issue, described as minor, with hope he will be ready for Forest. He has five goals this season and also suffered a hamstring problem in December that cost him three games before Christmas. He has started only once since, the goalless draw at Liverpool, when Dominic Calvert-Lewin was benched for rotation.

James Justin is a doubt, though there is hope he makes it after this week’s checks. He was withdrawn at half-time against Arsenal as Farke moved to a back four, and the decision was enforced rather than purely tactical. Farke said the full-back had toe pain, hoped it was not broken, and noted there was a risk of damage. He is being assessed for Friday.

Jaka Bijol is expected back from a hamstring strain for the visit of Forest after three games out, though there remains a small chance he misses out. Farke had set this week as a return target. If Justin is absent, Bijol’s return would be timely, with Justin recently at right centre-back and Joe Rodon central, while Sebastiaan Bornauw has also featured through the middle.
