Cambuur host FC Twente in the Eredivisie on 30 August 2026 at the Kooi Stadion in Leeuwarden, with the hosts chasing their first points of the season and the visitors looking to build on mixed early form.
FC Twente did the double in 2022/23, winning 1-0 in Leeuwarden and 4-0 at home. Cambuur arrive bottom after three straight league defeats, while the Enschede side sit mid-table with one win from two.
Cambuur have shipped 12 goals in three league games, losing 4-0 to Excelsior, 3-1 at Fortuna Sittard and 5-2 against Feyenoord. Twente opened with a 1-0 loss at Heerenveen before beating PEC Zwolle 3-1, and also overturned a European tie with a 4-1 away win at Qarabağ after a 1-0 home defeat.
Daan Visser is out injured for Cambuur. FC Twente are without defender Stav Lemkin, who remains sidelined until 31 August.
Season profiles hint at the match-up. Cambuur average 52% possession with 84.76% pass accuracy but have struggled defensively. Twente have seen 61% of the ball, delivered 54 open-play crosses at 27.78% accuracy and scored from range rather than inside the box so far. Rafik El Arguioui, joint-top scorer in the league with three, is Cambuur's main threat, while Twente may look to control territory and test from distance.
A home win would put Cambuur's first points on the board and ease early relegation pressure. Victory for FC Twente would take them to six points and could move them towards the top half before trips to Groningen and, for Cambuur, to Telstar.
