Mehdi Dorval experienced a special evening during Algeria's victory over Equatorial Guinea (3-1). Coming on at the start of the second half, the left-back savored every minute, fully aware of the significance of representing his country.

"Honestly, I have no words," he admitted,

still overcome with emotion.

"I already had chills just stepping onto the pitch and, little by little, I let myself go and everything went well."

Clear-eyed about the match, Dorval praised the overall control shown by the Desert Foxes, even if the second half was less consistent.

"We managed to control the game," he emphasized,

highlighting the team's ability to manage the score and adapt to the tempo. This win allows Algeria to finish the group stage with a perfect record—a strong statement before heading into the knockout rounds.

The young defender is now looking straight ahead, mixing ambition with caution.

"Now, we’re going to focus on the round of 16 against DR Congo. It's going to be a big, tough match, and we'll prepare for it physically and mentally. Inshallah, we will win."

A statement that, beyond faith, captures the fighting spirit driving the Algerian squad as they enter the do-or-die phase of the tournament.
