The versatile Senegalese full-back revisited the troubling episode that forced him to withdraw from the tournament’s most crucial match. He explained that there are still unanswered questions regarding his health condition.

"As you saw, I couldn't play in the final. On the morning of the match, I wasn't feeling well, but I thought it would pass. The real trouble started on the team bus heading to the stadium. I was hurting everywhere, my head especially—it was very strange. We decided to substitute me. I was hospitalized and underwent several tests, but nothing was found. I even had more episodes during the night. To this day, I still don't know what happened to me," the Monaco player told l’Observateur.
