The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations shattered every record. In France, sports betting went through the roof. According to the National Gaming Authority (ANJ), licensed platforms recorded a total of €177 million in bets placed on the tournament. That's more than double the amount wagered during CAN 2023 (€77 million) and nearly three times more than the 2021 edition (€62 million).

This historic surge is partly explained by the tournament’s timing, which coincided with the Ligue 1 winter break, but also by the immense popularity of this edition, which drew record-breaking audiences on beIN Sports.

The matches that drew the most interest from punters were the Morocco-Nigeria semifinal, with €8.3 million in bets, and the final, won by Senegal against Morocco, which generated €7.8 million in wagers.
