The top goalkeepers of the Africa Cup of Nations

The award for the best goalkeeper of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has not been presented at every edition of the tournament.
This year in Morocco, however, the accolade is expected to be up for grabs, with several outstanding keepers in contention such as Yassine Bounou, Edouard Mendy, Mohamed El-Shenawy, Stanley Nwabali, Hervé Koffi, and more.
Cameroon's Indomitable Lions shot-stopper Joseph-Antoine Bell claimed the honour twice, in 1984 and 1988, just as Egypt's Essam El-Hadari did during Egypt's triumphs in 2008 and 2010.
Ivorians Alain Gouaméné (1992) and Sylvain Gbohouo (2015) have also earned this individual distinction, alongside Algeria's Raïs M'Bolhi, Senegal's Édouard Mendy, and South Africa's Ronwen Williams.
Here is the roll of honour for the tournament's top goalkeepers:
1984: Joseph-Antoine Bell
1988: Joseph-Antoine Bell

2008: Essam El-Hadari
2010: Essam El-Hadari
