Supporters of the Tunisian national team have received encouraging news regarding the health of Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, who suffered a knee injury during the clash against Nigeria, played on Saturday evening.
The Carthage Eagles midfielder suffered a knee contusion in the 58th minute after a collision with Nigerian goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali during a Tunisian counter-attack.
In a statement to the Egyptian website (Yallakora), Ahmed Salhi, head of the FTF communications office, indicated that the player will undergo medical tests in the coming hours to precisely assess the severity of his injury and determine his availability for upcoming matches. According to Salhi, there is no reason for significant concern based on initial conversations with the player.
The former Espérance de Tunis star is expected to undergo further examinations this Sunday, which will provide a definitive diagnosis following the injury sustained in the match against Nigeria, counting for the second round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations group stage, currently being held in Morocco.
As a reminder, the Tunisian national team, led by Sami Trabelsi, fell to Nigeria by a score of 3-2 after a spectacular, action-packed match played in Fès.
