The Ugandan national football team's plane has landed in recent hours at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, marking the beginning of their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

The Ugandan delegation thus becomes the first among the 24 qualified teams to arrive in the Kingdom for this major continental showdown.

On platform X, the Ugandan Federation posted a video capturing the team’s arrival, accompanied by the message: "Morocco, here we come! The Uganda Cranes are now in Casablanca."

The Cranes are gearing up for what will be their eighth appearance in the AFCON finals. Their campaign kicks off against Tunisia on December 23 at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.

They will then face Tanzania on December 27 at the Al Barid Stadium in Rabat, before wrapping up the group stage on December 30 against Nigeria at the Fez Sports Complex.

As for the squad, Belgian head coach Paul Put has revealed a preliminary list of 30 players, with the final squad still to be confirmed.

  • Defenders: David Mukundane, Isaac Awany, Aziz Muleme, Caprodossi Elio, Hilary, Torach Rogers, Obita Jordan, Timothy Owori, Sibbick Toby, Kayondo Abdu.
  • Midfielders: Alhassan Baba, Ssekiaganda Ronald, Aucho Khalid, Byaruhanga Bobosi, Semakula Kenneth.
