Egypt and Zimbabwe will face off on Monday in the opening round of Group B in the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025). On paper, Hossam Hassan's men are the clear favorites.
Five-time African champions and twice finalists in the last four editions, Egypt is eager to reclaim the continental crown that has eluded them for the past 15 years.
With Mohamed Salah leading the charge, backed by a star-studded squad featuring the likes of Omar Marmoush, Mostafa Mohamed, and Mohamed El Shenawy, Egypt has every reason to dream big.
On the other side, Zimbabwe is set for its sixth CAN appearance, returning to the competition after missing out in 2023. Their mission: to reach the round of 16 for the first time in their history.
The clash between the Pharaohs and the Warriors is scheduled for Monday, December 22, 2025, at 14:00 GMT.
The match will be broadcast live on beIN Sports, the official broadcaster of the tournament, including beIN SPORTS 1 in France and beIN Sports Mena. New World TV, Canal+ CAN, and Canal+ Afrique's 100% CAN channel will also carry the competition. Arryadia, the host nation's channel, is among the official broadcasters as well.
