Yassine Bounou played a pivotal role in securing Morocco’s spot in the final of the CAN 2025, standing firm against Nigeria’s attackers and delivering two crucial saves during the penalty shootout.
The Al-Hilal goalkeeper notched his fifth clean sheet of the tournament, adding to shutouts against Comoros (2-0), Zambia (3-0), Tanzania (1-0), and Cameroon (2-0).
The Atlas Lions’ last line of defense is now just three clean sheets away from Essam El Hadary’s record of 14 shutouts in the competition.
