The Algeria women's national team has officially entered the final stretch of their preparations. Since Monday, October 20, Farid Benstiti's players have gathered at the Sidi Moussa National Technical Center for a crucial training camp ahead of their showdown against Cameroon, which counts as the first leg of the second round in the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Arriving in the afternoon, the Greens immediately jumped into their first training session focused on recovery. This essential step sets the tone for approaching a two-legged tie that could prove pivotal in their continental journey. Earlier in the day, the national coach set the stage during a press conference, highlighting "discipline, rigor, and focus" as key elements to secure qualification hopes.

The squad has seen a slight shake-up: Morgane Ikene, sidelined by injury, has been forced to withdraw and will be replaced by Inès Khiri, a forward for FC Yverdon Sport in Switzerland. While Ikene's absence is significant, it does nothing to dampen the Algerians' ambitions. Determined to make a statement from the opening whistle, they will have the chance to do so this Thursday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran, where they will aim to seize an advantage against a formidable Cameroonian side.
