Canada defeats Samoa to earn Round of 16 berth at U-17 Women’s World Cup

SALÉ, Morocco — The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2025 continued on Wednesday, with Concacaf nation Canada securing its second victory of the campaign.
With the result, Canada secured its participation in the Round of 16 and maintained its lead atop its group.
Canada 6, Samoa 0
Canada earned a 6-nil victory over Samoa in Group D at Football Academy Mohammed VI (Pitch 1) in Salé, Morocco.
Daniela Feria-Estrada started the goal count for Canada in the 14’, from a free kick from the edge of the area.
Olivia Chisholm doubled the advantage in the 36’ with a right-footed volley from outside the box.
A left-footed shot in the box by Lacey Kindel in the 54’ extended the lead for The Canucks.
Marika Martineau added a fourth in the 58’ with a backheel finish following a corner kick.
Julia Amireh sent a long shot from outside the area in the 67’ to add another goal to Canada’s account. An own goal by Mia Afoa in the 90’+2’ closed the scoring.
Canada will play its final Group Stage match against France on Saturday.
