Canada tops El Salvador to qualify for FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

ALAJUELA, Costa Rica – The Final Round of the 2026 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers continued its final matchday with Canada winning 5-nil against El Salvador in Group A on Sunday at the Costa Rica Federation Field #1 in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
Reed Tingley scored the opening goal in the 22’, connecting with a left-footed shot from the left side of the box. Élizabeth Proulx provided the assist with a long through ball through the center of the field.
Lacey Kindel extended the lead in the 35’, before assisting Mélyna Alexis in the 37’.
Tingley completed her brace in the 39’ off an assist from Isabella Lanzillotta.
Gabriela Istocki made it five for Canada in the 44’ with header, as Lanzillotta collected her second assist of the day.
The Reds saw out the result to secure the top of the group with a 3-0-0 record, and advance to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026. The Canadian defense also collected its third consecutive shutout to finish its campaign with zero goals conceded.
El Salvador finished second place in Group A with a 1-1-1 record.
