The Juventus Women’s First Team return to action for their third competition of 2026 so far, taking on Napoli in the Women’s Italian Cup quarter-final first leg on Thursday, 22 January. Kick-off in Campania is fixed for 18:00 CET.
Ahead of the trip south, coach Massimiliano Canzi gave his thoughts on the game.
“We’ve had time to analyse things, and we’ve done so with great attention. It was an important game and unfortunately the result didn’t go our way. We definitely need to build on the performance we put in, and anybody who watched the game will say we dominated the pitch for the whole match. But football is great because the best team doesn’t always win. We’ve had games wherein we’ve won without necessarily being the better team and this time that happened in Inter’s favour.”
“It’s definitely important for us to get back out there as soon as we can and put the last game behind us, so we’re happy for the short turnaround time. We’re keen to show we can do better, and we’re shifting from the league to the Italian Cup.
"This is a two-legged tie, so it’ll be played over at least 180 minutes and we’ll have a home and away game, giving it a different feeling to those one-off games, like [the Super Cup final against Roma] in Cesena.
“Balance will be key in this one, and Napoli are a side we have the utmost respect for. We’re aware of our strength, but at the same time we respect Napoli and they’ve had a great start to the season.”
“We’ve got a lot of games in a short space of time now, but we’re only focused on Napoli for the moment. As always, we’ll look to put the best team we can out there, both technically and tactically, but we have to keep in mind that a lot of players were involved just two days ago and, as a result, some of them won’t be at 100%. I’m lucky in that, as I’ve often said, I will always be able to put a strong side out on the pitch.”
