The Juventus Women’s First Team are looking to defend their crown as Italian Women’s Cup champions, and Fiorentina are visiting Biella this Sunday for the second leg of their semi-final tie.

Ahead of the game - set for 18:00 CET on Sunday, 29 March - Bianconere boss Massimiliano Canzi has shared his thoughts.

THE SECOND LEG

“We’re coming into this game with a real desire to bounce back, and a hunger to improve on our last two performances, which weren’t played to our usual level. We have a huge chance tomorrow to reach one of our season’s objectives, which we had set from the beginning. We’ve earned the right to come into tomorrow’s game with a two-goal lead from the first leg, which is important, but we’re very aware that it’s only the half-time score for now. Even in this position of strength, we cannot let our guard down.”

THE PERFORMANCE

“We need to have the right attitude tomorrow, and it’ll need to be the one we’ve shown in all the games wherein we’ve played well. We’ll go out there to play our game, regardless of what Fiorentina do, because we know what we can do if we manage to impose ourselves on the game. We know what we’re coming up against, they’re a good team, and highly-motivated, and they’ll have to come at us and play their game. So, for that very reason, we’ll need to be good at staying tight during those trickier spells, and then strike by trying to take advantage of them needing to attack.”

AIMING FOR THE FINAL

“We’re facing Fiorentina for the third time this season, so they’re a team we know well, which also means that they know us well too. I’m convinced that we’re in control of our own destiny. If we deliver a performance, the result will follow. Reaching the final is, of course, important, but we need to earn our place there on the pitch tomorrow, to give us a chance of defending our trophy.”
