Capivariano lose at home but remain comfortable in the table

After winning the championship on Sunday (1st) against Flamengo in the Supercopa do Brasil, Corinthians returns to play this Thursday, for the sixth round of the Paulistão. The match will be against Capivariano, at the Neo Química Arena, starting at 8:30 PM (Brasília time). It is the only state championship game taking place this midweek.

Recently promoted from Paulistão A2, Capivariano is in a more comfortable situation than expected in the elite of São Paulo football. The club from Capivari has earned seven points in five games, sitting three points clear of the relegation zone. Additionally, they are just one point behind the People’s Team and could overtake them with a win in Itaquera,

However, Capivariano could be in an even more comfortable position. In the last round, the team led by Élio Sizenando was defeated by Primavera, who are experiencing their first season in the state’s top division and were promoted alongside Corinthians’ next opponent to this year’s Paulistão. In total, Capivari’s team has two wins, one draw, and two losses.

The individual standouts of the team have been Baianinho and Rodolfo, each with two goals in the competition. The former is also the player with the most chances created in the squad, with three opportunities. Originally a midfielder, he appears both to create plays and to finish them.
