Our Power Rankings table returns for another update following a big week of action across Europe’s top leagues.

📈 Power Rankings: Arsenal oust Bayern, Inter make return

10. Porto ⬇️ (last week: 8)

Porto’s dream of an unbeaten Primeira Liga season is over. The league leaders saw their undefeated start to the season ended after a shock setback at Casa Pia.

Porto’s awful afternoon was compounded by a Thiago Silva own goal and William Gomes’ red card.

9. Inter Milan

Inter Milan return to the Power Rankings table after a fourth consecutive win. The Nerazzurri eased past Cremonese to maintain their place at the top of the Serie A table, before beating Torino to reach the Coppa Italia semi-finals this week.

Cristian Chivu’s side is well placed for a domestic double.

8. Lyon ⬆️ (last week: 10)

Lyon are Europe’s form team right now after making it 10 consecutive wins in all competitions.

The French side are flawless in 2026 so far, with only goal difference now keeping them out of the Champions League places in Ligue 1. The arrival of Endrick has supercharged their form, with the Real Madrid loanee scoring five times in five games. His goal in the recent French Cup win over Stade Leval was a thing of beauty.

7. Real Madrid (No change)

Enrick’s parent club hovers just about Lyon in the Power Rankings table.

Alvaro Arbeloa’s side got back on track, just, against Rayo Vallecano last weekend. A late, late penalty from Kylian Mbappe kept the heat on La Liga leaders Barcelona.

6. Aston Villa ⬇️ (last week: 5)

A fall for Aston Villa, whose Premier League title hopes suffered a big dent.

Despite having a man advantage over 10-man Brentford for the entire second half, The Villans fell to a 1-0 defeat on home soil. Are Unai Emery’s team running out of steam?

5. Lens ⬆️ (last week: 6)

Having seen their winning run halted at Marseille, Lens have bounced back perfectly with back-to-back wins.

The surprise title challengers squeezed past Le Havre in league action before scoring four times on the road at Troyes in the French Cup. With confidence restored, can Lens maintain their title tussle with PSG?

4. Manchester City ⬆️ (last week: 5)

A mixed week for Manchester City, but an important one. Pep Guardiola will have been scratching his head (possibly, quite literally) after his City side squandered a two-goal lead against Spurs to fall further behind Arsenal in the Premier League.

He got a perfect response in midweek, however, as the Citizens booked another trip to Wembley. A 3-1 win over Newcastle booked a cup final date against Arsenal next month. Much has been made about Arsenal’s quadruple chase, but City remain in pursuit of four trophies too.

3. Barcelona (No change)

Lamine Yamal’s fine form continued over the past week as the Barcelona whizkid made it four consecutive games with a goal. Yamal was on target in wins over Elche (La Liga) and Albacete (Copa del Rey) as Barcelona made it five wins on the spin.

2. Bayern Munich ⬇️ (last week: 1)

Bayern Munich are ousted from the top spot in the Power Rankings table after a Bundesliga blemish.

The German champions failed to win for the second straight league fixture, as Hamburg battled to a point at Volksparkstadion. Their lead has been slashed to just six points.

1. Arsenal ⬆️ (last week: 2)

Arsenal are the new table toppers after a wonderful week for Mikel Arteta. Just as some started to ask questions about the Gunners, the North Londoners showed their mettle.

An impressive 4-0 win at Leeds United extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table, before Kai Havertz sank former club Chelsea to send Arsenal into the Carabao Cup final.

After six seasons without a trophy, could Arsenal end this season with the lot?
