Reece James has signed a new six-year contract with Chelsea, keeping the captain at the club until 2032.
The club said in a statement that the London-born academy graduate had committed his future. It added that he regards Chelsea as central to his career, wants to spend his best years there and believes the team can build on past successes.
James has won five major trophies with the Blues, including the 2021 Champions League, plus the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup last year. He has made more than 200 appearances for the club.
Chelsea lost 5-2 to Paris Saint-Germain in Wednesday's Champions League last 16 first leg. They sit fifth in the Premier League.
Capped 22 times by England, James should be the starting right-back for the Three Lions at the World Cup this summer, which runs from 11 June to 19 July. He has already played 35 club matches this season, his highest total since 2021-2022.
