Southampton await the Carabao Cup second round draw after a 2-0 win at Colchester United in their first competitive match since spy-gate.

Second-half goals from Cyle Larin and Irish youngster Romeo Akachukwu sent the Saints through. According to Sainstmarching.com, the draw is on Monday 10 August at around 7:20pm BST, before Sky Sports' Devon Derby between Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City at Home Park.

David Prutton will host, with Jobi McAnuff and Jamie Mackie conducting the draw. The round is regionalised into North and South, leaving Southampton with 23 possible opponents.

Premier League: Brentford, Fulham, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Ipswich Town and Coventry City. Championship: Millwall, Cardiff City, Norwich City, Birmingham City, Watford, West Ham United and Charlton Athletic.

League One: Stevenage, Cambridge United, AFC Wimbledon, Peterborough United, Reading, Luton Town, Leicester City and Leyton Orient. League Two offers Walsall, while Plymouth or Exeter will complete the list.

Portsmouth’s 3-1 defeat at the London Stadium against West Ham United rules out a South Coast derby. The rivals will meet in the Championship at St Mary's on 11 October.

Second-round ties are set for Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 August, between league games against Stoke City and Millwall, both at St Mary's. In the UK, Sky Sports will show all 93 Carabao Cup fixtures live, with ITV screening at least one per round.

In the United States it airs on CBS Sports Golazo and Paramount+, and on beIN SPORTS in Australia. ITV selection will depend on the draw.
