Cardinale compared to Trump as new Milan revolution begins: ‘You are fired’ | OneFootball

Tutti Convocati, a popular football podcast in Italy, compared Gerry Cardinale to US President Donald Trump after the Milan owner ‘fired’ Massimiliano Allegri and other leading executives following the Rossoneri’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Milan are going through yet another revolution, possibly the deepest in the last two years, having entirely reset their club management by sacking coach Allegri and CEO Giorgio Furlani, sporting director Igli Tare and technical director Geoffrey Moncada.

Milan confirmed their sackings on Monday, the day after a 2-1 home loss against Cagliari which determined their exclusion from the top four.

Allegri, Furlani, Moncada and Tare were all sacked with a statement that earned Cardinale a comparison with US President Trump.

“Gerry Cardinale is a Trump admirer, probably of John Wayne too, given that he’s managed those days at Milan like a cowboy,” said Carlo Genta, host of Tutti Convocati, a popular football podcast of Radio 24 in Italy.

“The game [against Cagliari] reflected the whole season at Milan, and the day after, like Trump, he said: ‘You are fired.’ Everyone was sacked.”

Milan are now looking for a new coach and directors with Cardinale once again following advice from ex-Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, an operating partner and senior advisor of Red Bird.
