Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Sunday moved to reiterate his appreciation for the talents of a member of the club’s backline.
The player in question? Jacobo Ramón.
Defender Jacobo was in from the off for the 2nd game in succession this evening, as Real Madrid made the trip to Andalusia for a La Liga meeting with Sevilla.
And after netting a last-gasp winner in a fine display against Mallorca in midweek, the 20-year-old, all told, impressed once more.
From his berth at the heart of the visitors’ backline, Jacobo looked solid and composed, en route to a Real clean sheet.
Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, Carlo Ancelotti was in turn drawn on the talents of his young stopper.
And the departing Italian made use of the opportunity to praise Jacobo, highlighting teammate Raúl Asencio as a reference for the youngster:
“Jacobo Ramón? He’s a player who can be like Raúl Asencio. We consider him that way. He had long injuries. He’s a little shy, and that’s why he’s not shown his full potential yet, but he has the level to play for Real Madrid.”
