Manchester United Women have continued to strengthen their backroom staff.

A busy summer

United’s women team have had a wonderful start to the season as they remain undefeated in both the Women’s Super League and the Champions League proper.

All three summer signings of Jess Park, Julia Zigiotti Olme and Fridolina Rolfö have taken to the club like ducks to water.

The backroom staff has also seen a bit of an overhaul as Charlotte Healy left after six years as an assistant coach.

Dan Bale joined from Nottingham Forest to fill the role.

Scott Rogers was also appointed as an assistant after leaving Liverpool in August.

Newest addition

Manchester United have appointed Carlon Carpenter as Lead Analyst for the women’s team.

Carpenter announced on his X site that he was “very proud to share that I’ll soon be starting a new chapter as Lead Performance Analyst with Manchester United Women.”

He added that he was “extremely honored to be a part of an iconic club and excited to contribute to such a fantastic set of players and staff” and that he “can’t wait to get going.”

Carpenter announced his departure from Houston Dynamos on his LinkedIn profile a few days ago.

The new Lead Analyst claimed, “Houston – It’s been a pleasure! After three seasons, my chapter with the Dynamo has come to a close.”

In Houston he was a Head Video Analyst and also Head of Analysis.

Carpenter also has experience at Bath City Football Club as a Performance Analyst.

His profile also states that he has a licence in “Modern Scouting And Data Driven Recruitment”, which will surely come in useful for the Women’s team.

The move reflects the Women’s team move to more data driven recruitment in the same way the men’s side have began to rely more heavily on data. This has been seen in the dramatic cuts to the number of scouts at the club.
