Carlos Corberán played down his influence on signings and said he has not spoken to De Haas or Aliou Dieng as attention turns to Valencia’s summer business.

The season is still ongoing but the club have several loanees and there is interest in keeping Largie Ramazani at Mestalla. According to Superdeporte, Corberán was asked if he had begun steps to persuade the Belgian to stay.

He responded that he only speaks to players before they arrive to explain what they will find in Valencia, something that does not apply to Ramazani because he already knows the club.

He said those cases differ from the previous window because they have signed as free agents. He underlined that he is not the one who convinces footballers to join, crediting the badge instead.

Pressed with Arnaut Danjuma’s claim that a conversation with the coach was key to his move, Corberán maintained that stance. He said nobody comes to Valencia because of him and that any trust from Danjuma was not the reason for the transfer. He added that such chats can help frame a situation and that he prefers to talk football, investing time with players.
