Carlos Cuesta dismissed by Parma, youngest coach in Big Five | OneFootball

Parma dismissed Carlos Cuesta on Sunday during the international window. The Spaniard, 31, was the youngest head coach in the Big Five and was in his first job as a head coach.

The club said in a statement that differences with the coach meant the necessary conditions to continue were no longer in place, particularly regarding the sporting project.

Cuesta was appointed in July 2025, succeeding Cristian Chivu after his move to Inter Milan. He had previously worked as Mikel Arteta's assistant at Arsenal from 2020 to 2025.

He ended his first Serie A season in 13th, comfortably securing the Gialloblu's safety.

The 2026-27 campaign began more awkwardly, with Parma taking only four points, one win, one draw and three defeats, from five matches to sit 15th. They were also knocked out of the Italian Cup in the round of 32 after a 2-0 loss to Cremonese.
