West Ham defensive midfielder Carlos Sánchez is out of contract this summer and it’s just about a certainty that the Colombian will leave the club.

The 34-year-old has not had the best of spells since joining West Ham from Fiorentina, making just 17 appearances for the club since his arrival.

Sánchez has never played professional football in his home country but he’s not considering a return to South American football just yet.

“I wouldn’t say no, but at the moment we are not thinking of going back to Colombia,” Sánchez said.

“However, you never know.”

Sánchez may not be too fondly remembered in his home country, as he picked up a red card just three minutes into Colombia’s World Cup campaign, which undoubtedly contributed to their 2-1 defeat against Japan.
