Carlos Vinicius has rejected an offer from América-MÉX in recent weeks. Grêmio's leading scorer remains free to sign with another club and his future in Porto Alegre is not assured.
According to Globo.com, interest has intensified since July, when the centre-forward became eligible to agree a pre-contract elsewhere, but all approaches so far have been turned down. Clubs from Mexico, MLS and even Serie A have made contact, and the window in Mexico closes on 11 September.
Grêmio are negotiating a two-year extension with the striker. The report said he did not meet the conditions for an automatic renewal in July.
He is the club's top scorer this year with 18 goals in official matches. That rises to 21 including friendlies played during the World Cup pause.
Carlos Vinicius is currently on a four-game run without a goal. In total, he has 30 in 54 appearances for Grêmio.
