Carrascal led a rampant Flamengo in a heavy win against Mirassol, a collective display that narrowed the Brasileirão gap to Palmeiras. Pedro struck twice, with Luiz Araújo and Samuel Lino also on the scoresheet.
According to Globo.com, Carrascal drew an early flying save, then broke the deadlock after Pedro’s clever build-up and a Plata pass, Varela having sparked the move. He influenced four of Flamengo’s five goals.
Pedro quickly added two of his own to draw level with Viveros as top scorer in the league. Ayrton Lucas supplied the assist for the third goal as Leonardo Jardim’s side kept control.
Luiz Araújo returned from nearly a month out and lashed in a superb strike early in the second half, lifting the attack. Arrascaeta came on at 27 minutes and created the fifth for Samuel Lino, introduced at 17.
Rossi was scarcely troubled, making a fine stop before the interval, but late on conceded when João Victor rose unmarked. Erick Pulgar patrolled midfield, Lucas Paquetá impressed on his first start since injury, and Léo Pereira was assured. Danilo endured shakier moments, including a dangerous foul on Alesson in the box that was not taken to VAR. The display provided timely confidence ahead of the Libertadores.
