Roma is aggressively seeking a reinforcement for the left midfield, a position that has become a priority in the Giallorossi transfer market.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the red-circled box on Frederic Massara and Friedkin’s list is for a striker capable of sparking play and interpreting the position, as Gasperini wants.
Lorenzo Pellegrini could be a fit, but his characteristics are different from the type of player the coach has in mind to add depth to the attack. Dybala, while adaptable to various positions, thrives on the left.
Yannick Carrasco is one of the hottest names these days.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Roma is seriously considering him, also because the Belgian is reportedly highly motivated to return to Europe, especially given the possibility of playing in the World Cup with Rudi Garcia’s Belgium.
Carrasco, who currently plays for Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia, has already taken the first steps toward a possible transfer.
He inquired about Roma with Hermoso, his former teammate at Atletico Madrid, thus demonstrating a genuine interest in wearing the Giallorossi jersey.
Roma would prefer a loan deal with an option to buy for Carrasco, while Al Shabab is aiming for a permanent transfer.
Despite the higher salary demands, Carrasco is reportedly willing to drastically reduce his €13 million salary to fit Roma’s financial parameters.
