CAS has upheld Fifa's ruling, leaving Santos obliged to pay Pedro Caixinha’s coaching staff, with the club racing to settle to avoid another transfer ban. UOL first reported the development.

The hearing was held on 28 May, with the club unable to overturn the verdict. Late last year Fifa ordered Santos to pay US$ two million to the staff.

Of five cases filed by the coaching staff, Santos prevailed in one, against assistant José Guilherme Oliveira. In the former coach’s case, the club secured a cut of about R$ 600 thousand, with around R$ 1.4 million trimmed from the overall sum.

Caixinha was dismissed on 14 April 2025. On 29 April, the terminations of Caixinha and assistants Pedro Malta, José Belman and José Oliveira were registered on the CBF’s BID.

He oversaw 18 matches in 2025, with seven wins, four draws and seven defeats, 30 scored and 22 conceded for a 46% return. In the Paulistão there were 14 games, six wins, three draws and five defeats, 23 scored and 16 conceded. The team won a friendly 4-1, and in the Brasileirão had three games, one draw and two defeats, scoring three and conceding five.
