CBF reschedules Corinthians v Athletico-PR for Brasileirão round 2

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed this Monday (02) a change in the date of the match between Corinthians and Athletico Paranaense, valid for the second round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship. The match, initially scheduled for February 18, has been moved to February 19, a Thursday.

The game will be played at 7:30 PM at Ligga Arena, in Curitiba. According to the CBF, the change was made due to restrictions on the availability of public security personnel on the previously scheduled date, following a recommendation from the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Paraná (MP-PR).

It is worth noting that the second round of the Brasileirão is generally scheduled to take place between February 4 and 5. However, due to Corinthians’ participation in the Supercopa do Brasil, which they won last Sunday (01) against Flamengo, the federation chose to reschedule the São Paulo club’s match for the third week of the month.

Before the clash against the team from Paraná, Timão still has a commitment in the Brazilian Championship. The alvinegro team faces Red Bull Bragantino in the third round of the national competition, set for February 12. In the tournament opener, Corinthians were defeated by Bahia 2-1, in a match played at Vila Belmiro.

As for the Paulista Championship, Corinthians take the field this Thursday (05) to close out the sixth round of the State tournament. The opponent will be Capivariano, at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), at Neo Química Arena. The match was originally scheduled for last Sunday, but was postponed due to the Supercopa do Brasil final.
