CD Castellón supporters have selected their 2025/26 team of the season, a blend of leading lights and breakout names after a campaign that ended agonisingly short of promotion to Primera.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, head coach Pablo Hernández topped every rating with an average of 8.6. Recently renewed to 2029 on a 2+1 agreement, his work kept the side among the pacesetters and lifted the SkyFi Castalia.
In goal, fans opted for the Belgian Matthys with 7.4, mirroring a campaign in which he held the shirt after an opening spell for Amir.
The back four features Jérémy Mellot at right-back on 8.1, a model of consistency until injury. At centre-half, Alberto Jiménez on 7.8 partners Fabrizio Brignani on 7.6, rewarding leadership, solidity and the Italian’s growing scoring threat.
On the left, Lucas Alcázar earned 7.2, his progress convincing the fanbase.
Midfield is the familiar, complementary duo of Diego Barri on 8.1 and Beñat Gerenabarrena on 8.4. The former for balance and reading of the game, the latter for drive, personality and influence.
Álex Calatrava, also rated 8.4, is the undisputed No 10 after a decisive attacking year.
Out wide, Brian Cipenga on 7.6 is recognised for his ability to unpick matches. On the opposite flank, Pablo Santiago’s 7.4 reflects reliability and contribution on and off the ball.
Up front, Ousmane Camara, rated 7.4, is the chosen spearhead to round off an outstanding XI.
