CD Castellón have navigated a bruising February with 10 points from 15, entering March in second and in the automatic promotion places.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the month was framed as a stern examination of Pablo Hernández’s side. They lost only once, on Saturday, when leaders Racing capitalised on errors to win at SkyFi Castalia, rounding off a run of elite fixtures.

The sequence began with a routine 2-0 defeat of Andorra, then a striking 4-0 win at Valladolid.

Back at SkyFi Castalia they overpowered Deportivo de la Coruña 2-0, putting them top alone for the first time in decades.

Next came fellow heavyweights UD Las Palmas, and Castellón salvaged a 1-1 draw when Brignani struck in added time, despite Agustín Sienra’s dismissal and earlier missed chances.

The defeat to Racing was their first of 2026. They now have 49 points, 13 more than at this stage last season.

They are level on points with Almería, who still have to visit Castalia, and Dépor, while Las Palmas and Málaga remain firmly in the chase.
