CD Castellón will move courtesy seats for visiting entourages to the visiting section at SkyFi Castalia, following trouble after Saturday 28 February’s LALIGA Hypermotion meeting with Real Racing Club de Santander.

The club said in a statement that from matchday 31 against Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa, courtesy tickets would be placed inside the visitors’ area in Preferencia Alta, rather than in Tribuna, and kept separate from home fans.

During and especially after the game there were unacceptable provocations by people linked to the visitors, including players’ relatives and other companions who held courtesy seats in Tribuna provided by the rival club. Gestures and behaviour towards nearby home supporters created tension and put season-ticket holders’ safety and wellbeing at risk, prompting intervention from security staff and the National Police.

Home fans were not responsible, and their backing has been exemplary throughout the season at SkyFi Castalia. More than 14,000 attended on Saturday and deserve to enjoy matches in a secure, provocation-free setting.

The decision responds exclusively to safety and the protection of Castellón’s supporters. Using the visitors’ section enables existing security protocols for that area to be applied with state security forces, aiming to avoid a repeat of last Saturday’s situation.

Castellón’s stance remains absolute on supporter safety and comfort. SkyFi Castalia is its home, and unacceptable behaviour by outsiders will not be tolerated.
